Shortly after moving to Pender Harbour in 2003, she joined the PHWS where she met many friends and neighbours with the same commitment to protecting the health of natural environments. She has served on the Board of Directors for many years and hopes to continue the important work the founders started in 1979.
Carole and her husband, Ryan, are raising two children and they are active parents at the local schools. Carole also enjoys teaching Hatha and Chair Yoga locally.

He spends his time with a delightful partner and two Boston terriers and enjoys staring out windows, bicycling, and kayaking.
Instead of a photo of himself, Bob prefers for us to see a sweet photo of his puppy soul companion.

John has lived in Pender Harbour since 1986 and became a member of the PHWS soon after arriving. Under the gentle influence of Iris and Billy Griffith, and using his scientific background, he got involved in looking after the salmon enhancement hatchery at Lions Park as well as conducting a faunal and floral survey of Ambrose Lake Ecological Reserve. Those early projects led into activism on behalf of protecting natural areas such as Spipiyus Park and expanding the ecological reserve.
On a personal note, June and John live in a cordwood home that they built themselves. They have a large food garden, and they are continually trying to reduce their carbon footprint! He's joined the Board of Directors to help with current projects and with some ideas for new ones.
